Hello, Miss Fisher fans!

When it came to series 3, many of us asked one very important question: Where’s Jane? The fandom has hypothesizedfantastic European tours for her and university stays in Sydney or Paris or London, but wherever she’s been, we’re obviously hoping she’s had a wonderful time.

But now, I’m happy to be able to tell you that wherever Jane was during series 3, the wonderful Ruby Rees is going to be joining us at con this year!

Ruby has been working in the entertainment industry since she was just a wee thing, acting in TV and movies since 1995. (Wanna watch her show reel?) In addition to her two seasons on Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries as the indomitable Jane Ross, she’s had parts in multiple projects, and recently finished filming Picnic at Hanging Rock with Natalie Dormer (watch the trailer on Amazon Prime; episodes coming May 25). Here’s what Amazon says about Picnic at Hanging Rock:

“A reimagining of the iconic Australian novel that plunges us into the mysterious disappearances of three schoolgirls and their governess on Valentine's Day, 1900. Exploring the event's far-reaching impact on the students and staff of Appleyard College, their enigmatic headmistress and the nearby township, theories soon abound, paranoia sets in, long-held secrets surface, and the mystery deepens.”

I don’t know about you, but I’m in!

Ruby’s also been working for Bolinda Audio to read the Go, Girl series of books for kids, and recently finished an Indiegogo campaign that raised more than AUD$7,000 to fund the production of a movie, Women by the Sea, with a fully female cast and crew. Want to know more? You’ll have a chance to ask her at con!

On the afternoon of Friday, June 29, Ruby will be interviewed by Mary and Jo Jo of the Miss Fisher Philes podcast, and then we’ll give attendees a chance to ask questions of their own. She’ll also be sticking around to sign autographs afterward, and we hope that she’ll join us for dinner and the masquerade. So bring your autographable materials and think about what you’d like to know. More behind-the-scenes stories? Tales of costumes past? Whether it was difficult to breathe in the same room as Essie and Nathan?

Con is just around the corner, and here’s another reason that we just can’t wait!
